LGBTIQA+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and questioning, asexual/agender, and the plus represents those who don’t align with these identities but exist outside of cisgender and heterosexual norms.
This work acknowledges the gaps within the family violence sector, and within our organisation, in providing inclusive and welcoming services to LGBTIQA+ communities.
Working towards Rainbow Tick accreditation means that we will be formally accredited as an organisation whose services are responsive to the needs of the community and is a way that we can demonstrate our commitment to LGBTIQA+ pride and diversity.
We are committed to becoming a safe and affirming service that is responsive to - and inclusive for - all staff and service users.
The Rainbow Tick accreditation will let our LGBTIQA+ clients, community members and program participants know that they will receive inclusive services from the moment they first speak to GenWest.
