We are seeking a Specialist Family Violence Disability Practice Lead within our System Enablers team! This role is a max-term 12-month position, SCHADS Level 8.1 ($131,087 pro rata), plus 11.5% superannuation, plus $15,990 salary packaging. This role is available in full-time or part-time employment capacity (0.8-1.0 FTE).
About the role
We are seeking a Specialist Family Violence Disability Practice Lead within our System Enablers team on a max-term 12-month basis, working across multiple Western suburbs across Footscray, Sunshine, Werribee and Melton. The Specialist Family Violence Disability Practice Lead provides specialist practice guidance at the intersection of family violence and disability. The Family Violence Disability Practice Lead will strengthen GenWest’s capacity to respond to people with disabilities who are impacted by family violence through secondary consultations, workforce development, advocacy, and systems improvement.
The position aligns with sector-wide reforms stemming from the Royal Commission into Family Violence and supports implementation of the Everybody Matters: Inclusion and Equity Statement to ensure the family violence system is inclusive and responsive to the needs of people with disabilities.
Key responsibilities
Practice Leadership and Capacity Building
- Deliver expert practice advice and secondary consultations to family violence practitioners responding to clients with disabilities.
- Support the implementation of the MARAM Framework, information sharing schemes, and intersectional approaches across service delivery.
- Provide training, mentoring and resource development to build internal and sector capability.
- Improve staff disability literacy including NDIS navigation, rights-based frameworks, and inclusive communication.
Cross-Sector Collaboration
- Strengthen referral pathways and collaborative practices between GenWest, The Orange Door, and local disability services.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with disability advocacy organisations and service providers.
- Provide sector-wide leadership through participation in Communities of Practice, statewide networks, and working groups.
Systems Advocacy and Practice Development
- Identify gaps, barriers and opportunities in service access for people with disabilities.
- Contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures and practice tools that promote disability inclusion.
- Support continuous improvement by analysing trends and providing practice feedback to leadership and external stakeholders.
Reporting, Accountability and Compliance
- Maintain records of secondary consults, training activities and stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to program reporting, evaluation, and data-informed advocacy to drive systemic change.
About you
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, or a related discipline.
- At least five years' experience in specialist family violence or sexual assault services, including working with people with disability.
- Demonstrated leadership in practice development, secondary consultation, or workforce capacity building.
- Strong knowledge of disability rights, the social model of disability, NDIS processes, and relevant legislation (Disability Discrimination Act, Equal Opportunity Act).
- Extensive understanding of intersectionality and its application in practice.
- Working with Children’s check
- Police check (and international police check if lived overseas for a year or more in the last 10 years)
Desirable
- Lived experience of disability and/or experience delivering services tailored to people with disabilities.
- Knowledge of the western metropolitan family violence and disability service systems.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary or partnership-based service model.

We are seeking 4 Specialist Family Violence Practitioners within our Outreach and Crisis Response teams! These roles are available in full-time and part-time employment capacity (0.9) SCHADS Level 4.4 - 5.3 ($96,171 - $106,881 full-time equivalent) pay point dependent on experience, plus 11.5% superannuation, plus $15,990 salary packaging. Three roles are ongoing, one is max. term until 12th June 2026.
About the role
We are seeking four Specialist Family Violence Practitioners! As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will be responsible for the delivery of family violence case management support to victim survivors (including children) of family violence. You will develop case plans that address victim survivor risk and the impact that family violence has had on their lives.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing and supporting an agreed number of cases, that consist of developing and reviewing case plans that reflect client goals within expected service delivery timelines, including crisis, brief and longer-term responses.
- Undertaking comprehensive risk assessment and safety planning using the tools contained within the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM).
- Providing information to victim survivors of family violence to support them in understanding the service system and navigating barriers to assistance.
- Providing crisis support and advocacy for victim survivors experiencing family violence.
- Explaining client rights and responsibilities in regard to limited confidentiality and informing clients when risk indicates that information sharing with specific services or authorities is required.
- Assisting in service and justice system navigation and undertaking advocacy on behalf of victim survivors to mitigate gaps in service response.
- Facilitating multidisciplinary cross-team work to document, implement, monitor and modify case management plans designed to address the ongoing needs of victim survivors.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience working in the family violence sector or related sector (i.e. homeless or mental health).
- Tertiary qualifications in social work or related discipline as per the Minimum Mandatory Qualifications.
- Experience in effectively managing competing priorities.
- Proven experience in collaborating effectively within a team, cross-functional and with external agencies.
- Strong ability to exercise initiative and judgement in complex situations.
- Experience managing your own workload in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate high quality written and verbal communication skills.

We are seeking four Specialist Family Violence Practitioners to join our growing team of skilled professionals at The Orange Door, Werribee. This role is a SCHADS Level 5.1 - 5.3 ($102,238 - $106,881) pro rata, pay point dependent of experience, plus 11.5% superannuation, plus $15,990 salary packaging. These roles are available in full-time or part-time (1.0-0.9 FTE) employment capacity. One role is permanent, and the other three are 8-12 month max-term contracts.
About the role
The Orange Door (TOD) practitioners work collaboratively as part of an integrated team to deliver effective responses to victim survivors of family violence (including children and young people), as well as to adults who use family violence. The TOD Practitioner conducts risk, wellbeing and needs assessments and requires a high level of professional judgement. A solid understanding of the principles and practices relevant to family violence and child/family wellbeing is required. This role requires an understanding of the underpinning societal structures that perpetuate gender inequity and contribute to the ongoing disempowerment of victim survivors and children.
Key responsibilities:
- Assessing and prioritising risk/needs of adult victim survivors, children, families, and adults who use violence by phone and face to face contact, drawing on the expertise of practitioners in an integrated team.
- Supporting and advocating for adult victim survivors, children and families, using a client centred, strengths-based approach that is culturally appropriate, inclusive and responsive.
- Undertaking triage of referrals, MARAM risk assessments, child wellbeing assessments, safety planning, referrals, targeted interventions, and brokerage support.
- Providing brief interventions, assessments and referral pathways and the ability to manage often complex and competing demands within an integrated practice framework.
- Identifying, assessing, and prioritising risk and needs of clients, seeking information from multiple sources to inform assessments.
- Applying advanced communication skills using a Single Session approach to client work.
- High level case-note writing, referrals, and assessments.
- Meeting required KPIs.
- Proactively collaborating and consulting with colleagues and external services, exemplifying strong relationship-building behaviours.
- Applying and adhering to MARAM and Best Interest Practice Frameworks.

We are seeking a motivated and organised Facilities Coordinator within our Facilities team. This role is a full-time 9-month position, covering a period of maternity leave and expecting to start in mid-September 2025. This role is a SCHADS Level 4.1 ($ 89,374 pro rata), plus 12% superannuation, and enjoy a salary packaging benefits program up to $15,990 per year.
About the role
As the Facilities Coordinator, you will sit within the Facilities team, reporting to the Facilities Team Leader, Operations & Contract Manager. You are required to support the wider team with adherence to GenWest Facilities operations and maintenance requirements, OHS requirements, and minimising risk for staff and victim-survivors during their time on site. This role is required to travel to our various sites across West Naarm.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee facilities management at sites and offices where GenWest services are located, or sites as assigned by the Facility Team Lead.
- Emergency Management assistance and acting as a fire warden and first aid officer.
- Coordinate the delivery of low-level office maintenance, including responding to low-level issues such as light fixtures, water leaks, and other ad hoc office management issues, with the management of relevant trades.
- Ensure that Fleet is properly maintained, updated and occurs promptly (including annual registration processes and payment notification, regular servicing, and cleaning as per scheduled practices)
- Manage office and cleaning supplies, waste management, general building repairs, and security system and awareness.
- Participate in site induction for new employees, including the issuance of ID cards to new staff and how to use systems/tools, alarms, and building security.
- In conjunction with the Facilities Team Leader, plan, implement, and evaluate initiatives to improve GenWest facilities and operational systems.
About you
Essential
- At least 3 years of operational and/or administrative experience.
- The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- With Drivers licence.
- Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office capabilities.
