We've had an excellent turnout for our first two gardening working bees. Volunteers have worked together to restore the backyards of families affected by the 2022 Maribyrnong floods.
Last Saturday we had 35 people, of all ages and a range of backgrounds, join us to restore and revive the backyard of a family affected by the 2022 Maribyrnong floods.
It was a true community event with everyone getting involved. Two women told us they had never used a drill in their life and were extremely happy that they learned a new skill.
“I was in two minds to come today as I was struggling with personal issues, but I am so glad that I came today, and I will definitely come on the 23rd of June for the next Gardening Bee event.”

Join the last working bee on 23 June
We still have spots at our third and final gardening session in Maribyrnong on 23 June.
Dylan Newell from Eyrie Studio will guide us as our sustainable gardening coordinator. The daily sessions will include a gardening education workshop with My Smart Garden and a shared lunch.
This is a family fun event, with children working with our dedicated kids’ facilitators to create gardening artwork throughout the Working Bee.
Bring your own gardening gloves, hat, sun protection and water bottle.

“Thanks to this gardening bee, we are so much more inspired to garden every weekend to make it into our dream garden. I now feel confident I can do it.”
