GenWest’s Chair of the Board of Directors has resigned today.
The resignation will not in any way impact the day-to-day operations of GenWest and the critical support we provide to communities in the west. Our Deputy Chair, Elaine Montegriffo, is now Acting Chair.
Maria DiGregorio has been a deeply committed voluntary board director of GenWest since 2014. In that time she served as Treasurer, and then as Chair.
A wholly unrelated organisation of which Maria is a director is under investigation, which is being disputed. Maria is stepping aside to ensure there is no possibility of media coverage of this investigation distracting from the vital work GenWest does to support victim survivors of family violence.
The Board and the team at GenWest are grateful to Maria DiGregorio for her outstanding service to GenWest.
