Preventing Violence Together 2030 Strategy and Background Paper

Plans, reports & strategies

Jan 18, 2022

Preventing Violence Together is a regional partnership made up of 19 organisations who work together to prevent violence against women across Melbourne’s west.

The strategy will guide the work of the Preventing Violence Together partnership, by outlining actions and a shared vision: ‘women and girls across Melbourne’s west live free from violence and discrimination and have equal status, rights, opportunities, representation and respect’.

The strategy was developed following consultation with partners, service providers and communities of interest, to ensure it is relevant and tailored to the unique needs and context of Melbourne’s western region.

The strategy is a coordinated, action-based approach to preventing violence against women across Melbourne’s west. It is accompanied by a background paper, which can also be downloaded below.

Preventing Violence Together 2030 Dashboard

In addition to the strategy and background paper, there is also an online dashboard which outlines key indicators of change that lead to reducing the prevalence of violence against women, and advancing gender equity.

The dashboard intends to give PVT partners a headline view of current attitudes and behaviours, and the ability to compare these at a local government, regional or state level. The dashboard can be accessed via bit.ly/NavOPVT.
