About the health education sessions

The Multilingual Health Education (MHE) team at GenWest offers free health education sessions in Hindi, Urdu and Easy English to multicultural women in Melbourne’s west by creating safe spaces for women to share their concerns and barriers to accessing health services.

Topics include healthy relationships and safe homes, physical and mental wellbeing and sexual and reproductive health.

The GenWest MHE team provide relevant, culturally appropriate, and in-language information on women’s health and wellbeing related topics based on the needs of women from migrant and refugee backgrounds. They deliver the health education sessions online or face to face in a safe and informal setting.

These sessions aim to be relevant, effective, empowering and respectful.
